Health Equity and Gender Justice: Beyond Numbers and Policies

Introduction

Behind every statistic lies a human story. As a researcher, I’ve learned that achieving gender equity in healthcare is not about numbers — it’s about dignity, safety, and opportunity.

My GBV Work Experience

At the One-Stop Crisis Management Center, I supported survivors of gender-based violence. That experience shaped my belief that health systems must address social determinants, not just diseases.

What We Must Do

  • Integrate gender-sensitive approaches into all policies.
  • Provide safe, stigma-free services for survivors.
  • Empower women and youth to participate in decision-making.

Conclusion

Health equity isn’t an outcome — it’s a continuous process of inclusion, advocacy, and transformation.
